(I sent this as a PM to @Luxor but I'm genuinely curious as to what the consensus will be).

So GASR has this rule, where if you draw a female topless, it's considered AP / Inappropriate for forum etiquette.
But what happens when the character is a chubby, or fat male? Or like...men in general

Is it considered AP / Inappropriate at that point? There'd be little to no difference between them, so it has me wondering, why are nipples such a hot controversy on here?

And the entire reason that brought this topic up, is because my new character is a heavy male. He's not a skinny with a perfect waist, or muscular and fit. He's a chubby guy who likes being average. That being said, he has a plump chest so...
I don't wanna order something that would get an artist in trouble.

if I want to order art of him (eventually) without a shirt on.
Would it be considered inappropriate with GASR standards / would the artist get in trouble?

I honestly don't get why it's rated as inappropriate.
Genitalia/porn/etc is inappropriate and should stay so but going topless is something that's not really seen as sexual as it used to be. Being topless where I live (all genders) is no longer illegal or chargeable.

I also feel as though not allowing topless art is a step backwards when it comes to telling an artist what to draw and how to portray their art. Many people who find it super empowering to do so and it doesn't turn out sexual what-so-ever.

A good example being this piece from Happy-D-Artist.
Sorry if I went a tad off topic from your original question, it seems like it relates fairly well though.

There's a difference between artistic nudity and pornography. I feel like we need to reevaluate our AP guidelines.

@Anathema; As far as AP guidelines are concerned, there are a lot of things we generally can't have-- or at least post. Not because of GASR itself, but because of forumotion's general rules.

I agree, there is a difference between artistic nudity and pornography, but we have no control over that unfortunately D8

Like Cielo said, it's not us, it's forumotion.  They don't allow any kind of adult content(18+) on forums hosted by them.  That includes showing nipples on females.  Until female breasts are no longer sexualized at the level they are now, it'll never change.

When people continue to ignore this rule and post explicit content here anyway, they don't realize that they're not just getting themselves in trouble, they risk getting GASR in trouble as well.  Forumotion has permanently deleted forums on lesser rule breaking (I browse the support forums a lot), so I don't see them hesitating at all with deleting GASR for breaking the TOS. That's why mods stay on top of it regardless of their own personal beliefs of the matter.

"But what happens when the character is a chubby."

Why would that change whether a topless female would be allowed or not?  Or did you mean that in the sense of a male as well?

I already understand what Luxor was saying to me. I was ignorant to the fact that these weren't strictly Gasrs rules. Which is fine, but it doesn't change the fact that I believe that those rules, from an artists perspective, are crap.
The clear question in this form... that i discovered to be unanswered and months old was, since my character is a chubby male he obvi has breats that would look closer to a females anatomy... is this acceptable or no??
It's a legit question.
Thanks for the input.

I was asking him for clarification because the way he worded it confused me and thought he was asking if chubby females could get away with showing nipples.  That's why I asked if it was meant for males.  Seeing as he would be male, I don't see how this would go against Forumotion's TOS.
