I don't think GASR would be the right venue for that, since the focus is mostly on IMVU, OC, and traditional art, nothing business related.

Yeah I figured that. But this forum isn't based on imvu anymore (I recall the staff stating that a year or so ago) so people outside of imvu come here to buy and sell art that isn't imvu related.
But I guess people here don't really want logos.

Mmm, I know staff want GASR to be less reliant to IMVU and open it up to a broader range of both buyers and sellers, but most of the people who actively use the forum still come from IMVU, so it's still based around the site.

Even if they don't use IMVU as actively as they use GASR, IMVU credits are one of our main currencies still and is why most people here still use their accounts.

From my perspective, a lot of the people non-IMVU related don't stick around for too long because people don't want to pay more than the prices they've been accustomed to paying.  You can get a half-body portrait here for $10.  That's highway robbery for someone who comes here from dA that normally charges $60+ for a half-body.

Opinion aside, I think you should post your examples on outlets like deviantart, since I do know artists who have gotten contracts with businesses and even game developers through showcasing their artwork on there.

I don't think GASR is the right place for logo's
Maybe you could try this one: http://99designs.nl/

GASR allows logos, but it is not too popular. The main place I see it in in requests, and some look for it to be cheap and free since most don't understand that they are buying more than just rights to display the art (but can actually own it and make profit on its use), but that we also have a lot of legal contractual information we have to go through to prevent various thefts/not receiving payment/etc. Plus, they aren't just buying the logo; it's branding them, and it's a thing all customers will remember and attach with their business. It's a lot of work, and many people on GASR are still paying with credits or they are not willing to pay the price.

Personally, $5 is way too cheap in my opinion. The price varies, but its something you need to set and establish. Underselling seems like it can bring more people, but it can actually cause a ton of problems. While being new and not having a ton of experience with customs does impact it, it is no reason to lower your price if you feel that it is worth more.

A site I use is the Professional Association for Design. They have everything from programs to resources (that include jobs for freelance), but it is for people in the United States. It has some good resources though. You just need to pay attention to which jobs need you physically present (and part of why I'm providing more resources below...)

Australian Graphic Design Association would be similar for you in that they have resources and articles, but you can also list yourself for potential clients.

And here is the International Council of Design. They have similar resources and jobs available all over the world.

Here is on interesting article on AGDA about some things people run in to and struggle with.

"Lessons from a Young Designer" is another AGDA article, but from a young artist who grew popular on Pinterest and what she learned from that.

Oh, and for a giggle and shaking your head at situations: CFH is one of my personal favorite sites to browse.

Ok, I'll stop with the resources for now. There are many, many more out there that can help you out when it comes to finding a good place (and how) to advertise/promote your art as well as some other things.

I do $5 because I'm fairly new to making logos for other people/companies. And also because at the moment I'm trying to get traffic to my Fiverr gigs (site based on things being mostly $5 + extra things cost more like source file, complexity etc) so $5 would be to get me going and have more samples to put up.

I've already sold a fair few logos for companies to use on their sites, so I understand the amount of time and effort that goes into them. But again, I just need to do a few more to gain more experience and samples so I can eventually charge more.

But thank you for the resources, I will check them out!
