Artist of the Moment

Tarte

Visit my shop View my bio

I have been an artist on gasr for almost 5 years now, It took me so long to get to where I am now, and I am still learning. I'm currently a intern for makeup, still in school and have a part time job. Art has always been apart of my heart and it always was that "stress reliever" whenever i needed it. I have been into arts since the 5th grade once I started to draw on pencil and paper, and in 8th grade I found digital art and the amazing art of makeup. When I grew older, I found that art was all about me and I wanted to succeed in it. Many friends supported me in trying to work harder, many people helped me get to where I am now. Without art, I have no clue what id be doing. I enjoy seeing people's faces light up after I finish a piece or after im done beautifying their "imperfections". THAT inspires me.

Idk if I am posting this right but yeah, move it for me if it's on the wrong place pls
So
What I wanted to ask is, when you come up with an idea for a pose you want to draw a character in,
but you have no idea how to draw it, and you can't find references that look even close to the pose you have in mind, how do you guys do it?

Usually I just have one of my siblings model it for me, look at myself in a mirror, take a picture of myself or use a doll.

^^  I have one of those cheap little anatomy dolls you can get practically anywhere.  (I got mine at walmart for like $3.)  I actually have 2.  I don't know how, I just ended up with two.

You can manipulate every part that has a joint, including the head.  It's perfect for having a pose idea but not knowing how to put it on paper.  It's also good for just playing around and coming up with a pose you like if you don't have an idea either.

They look like this:

They have more advanced ones like these, but I don't know where to get them, how much they cost, and I don't think they're really all that necessary. Just preference I guess.
