Hi everyone! I'm currently in my last year of university, graduating in May next year! I love art and I've tried my hand at various things such as drawing anime/chibis/doodles but it seems like I'm better at doing pixel art, so I've stuck with that since. I'm self-taught, so I'm still experimenting around with different styles. I've been running an active shop for over a year with a few hiatuses in between. I love GASR as it has a great community where I can interact with fellow artists and art lovers :) I've made many friends here over the years and I hope that continues for a long time to come!

GASR Time

Fri 30 Oct 2015, 9:48 am
Hello, I wanted to change my avatar name and I was planning to buy a name change token but then I realised that I have a pretty big amount of credits so why do I need to buy it with real money? So I thought about paying someone with credits to buy me the token and then someone said it's against imvu rules. I'm lost now. halp D:

Heyy, this isn't the place to ask this @Carnation , GASR isn't affiliated with IMVU in any way and, if anything, this should be at the help section .

Second, you can only purchase name change tokens with money since resellers are but a distant memory.

Unless you can find someone who wants credits and is willing to spend money for you, you have no choice but to spend your money. IMVU made it really hard to trade credits around, so its really a risk for you and for the person who choses to do this trade with you.

@Yeri Oh, I am sorry. Yes, I guess.. I feel mad about the new decisions that imvu makes. It seems like after like 10 years of resellers imvu finally decided that it's lowering the profit for them.. but it was so good! :c

You're correct.  Not too long ago users were able to purchase name change tokens with credits from other users, regardless of how they actually received it.  (VIP, Purchased, Transfer, etc.)

People started using this as a way to scam people, though.  Since IMVU can't monitor user to user transactions like that outside of a 1 on 1 basis, they decided that it would no longer be allowed.

I'm not encouraging it, however, your situation is a half-legal way of doing it by having said person buy the nct from IMVU and have it sent to you as a gift.  Giving them credits afterward can be considered a thank you.  If you're gonna do it, might as well do it the safest way possible.

Advertising of buying/selling a nct can get your account disabled, remember that.

Yes. I think people who got scamed might be a little bit guilty themselves because it takes time to find a decent person to do that and if they sent money to someone who first said they can gift the token then it's obvious that they probably would get scamed. I know I could get disabled that's why I ask this here and not on the imvu forums :D
