Artist of the Moment

Tarte

Visit my shop View my bio

I have been an artist on gasr for almost 5 years now, It took me so long to get to where I am now, and I am still learning. I'm currently a intern for makeup, still in school and have a part time job. Art has always been apart of my heart and it always was that "stress reliever" whenever i needed it. I have been into arts since the 5th grade once I started to draw on pencil and paper, and in 8th grade I found digital art and the amazing art of makeup. When I grew older, I found that art was all about me and I wanted to succeed in it. Many friends supported me in trying to work harder, many people helped me get to where I am now. Without art, I have no clue what id be doing. I enjoy seeing people's faces light up after I finish a piece or after im done beautifying their "imperfections". THAT inspires me.

I don't have a working PayPal account (needs a bank account.) but I live by stores that sell PayPal cards. Can I use this as payment? Please and thank you.

I'm reading their FAQs as I am unfamiliar with their cards. It just states that you require a paypal account and not that you need a bank hooked to it from how it appears. You can use the card for moving money around both online and offline for everything from bills to groceries (and art). The card links to your account and acts as a debit card. You can even have direct deposits (from work). It isn't available for people Paypal is not available for (as you must have a paypal account) nor people from the state of Vermont.

To upload cash onto the card, you'd need to make sure a reload center/pack is near you, and you need to buy in it certain amounts as stated here. Other options are directing your direct deposit, transferring from your bank, or requesting your tax return to go onto the paypal account.

I will note for if you opt to try it out:

From the FAQ wrote:
If you purchased your PayPal Prepaid Card at a retail location: the temporary card you received will expire 120 days from the date of purchase. We encourage you to contact us early in the 120-day period so that we may send you a personalized card to ensure that your access to your money is uninterrupted. The personalized card we send to you will have an expiration date printed on the front of the card.

If you placed an online order for a card, or received our card offer in the mail: the personalized card we sent to you will have an expiration date printed on the front of the card.

This way you don't get any rejections suddenly if the physical card due to the expiration stuff.

I am also a bit interested in how this is working for other users, and whether or not this may end up a viable solution to lacking a bank account.

I'm pretty sure I'll be using the card right away when I'm about to order.

So, I guess since with this method as you stated, I wouldn't have too much trouble moving funds around, literally bypassing the bank account step. Well, I'll try it later today (Still at work as I'm typing this.) and see how it turns out.

If it works, maybe this will be a great option to get people using PayPal more often.

I agree. Thank you for bringing this up! Like I said, I'm interested in how this works for you! I'd greatly appreciate it if you can send me feedback as to your experience with it so that I can pass it on to see if this would be something we would recommend for users.

H'okay, I'm home, now. It seems like I can confirm that you can immediately use the money once you load it up to your PayPal Account.

I think I need to clarify something before people get confused:

You need to buy this for it to work for you:

Do not go for the Mastercard version. (Unless you want to, I unno. It's up to you!)

I don't think this picture gives it much justice, but the minimum amount is $20 USD, while the max is $500 USD, plus a $3.95 USD Purchase Fee. (I live in New York City.) Which isn't so bad, in my opinion. I use Gift Cards all the time to pay for gaming services.

Anyway, once you load it in, it's available for you to use:

I found this card at my local 7-11 store. I tried going to CVS and Walgreens, but to no avail.

Actually, you can apply online for one. You don't need to get it at the store. The store is the temporary one until the personalized one is requested, and the ordered one from online is the personalized one right off the bat.

Thank you for following up on this!

The one I bought is just a one-time use. Something quick and easy to load money into your account.

This is probably the easiest way to do it if you're in a pinch.

Now to find me a DP to unpotato-fy myself.
