Artist of the Moment

Tarte

I have been an artist on gasr for almost 5 years now, It took me so long to get to where I am now, and I am still learning. I'm currently a intern for makeup, still in school and have a part time job. Art has always been apart of my heart and it always was that "stress reliever" whenever i needed it. I have been into arts since the 5th grade once I started to draw on pencil and paper, and in 8th grade I found digital art and the amazing art of makeup. When I grew older, I found that art was all about me and I wanted to succeed in it. Many friends supported me in trying to work harder, many people helped me get to where I am now. Without art, I have no clue what id be doing. I enjoy seeing people's faces light up after I finish a piece or after im done beautifying their "imperfections". THAT inspires me.

ok I think I've made a boo-boo. A big boo-boo.

I don't understand fmx? I deposited my credits into the account and submitted the request to sell my credits, and it says its been received and completed, but they haven't asked for my paypal email so have I basically just given my credits away?

I've never sold with fmx before.

With FMX you actually have to request for a limit by submitting a ticket

Yeah this is really shitty because we wanted to sell GASRforum's credits

so to donate to gasr i guess it will have to go through to a paypal now, hu?

Yeah but this means I'm going to have to make a new paypal account specifically for forum donations.
Like before we used to be able to do it directly from forumotion (aka you would buy us credits that we could spend on the forumotion shop) but then paypal changed its TOS.

I mean hopefully we can still use credits for forum prizes and stuff???

So, they'll reply to the request then asking for my paypal?

YEAH it is kind of an additional headache gasrwise cause not only does it fuck gasr's users as artists + customers but also.... gasr's financials. which we all hate taking care of.

Is there another website similar that has resellers for their form of currency? If there is, we could try changing to that for payment instead of IMVU credits, just ultimately using it as a place to store payment until it turns into real money.

That's what I asked before ; o; ^
Wed Apr 08, 2015 7:48 pm
so they make 55 million annually apparently
with 120 staff

//edit
secondlife? i know many use this as a replacement for storing 'credits'

When you are filling out the ticket, you will need to provide your paypal email and other necessary information and they will reply like at least 24hours based on my experience. And with artists they mostly give you $200 limit.

60 staff I've read. Guess 55M/year isn't enough to keep the company running. - ends sarcasm.

IMVU's team is just a bunch of monkeys.
"No one wants to buy our stuff? Let's put credits on sale every other hour and get rid of resellers so they have to buy from us. Client keeps glitching and crashing? No problem! We'll just give you a tinder feature and hope you forget!  Don't want the new updates? That's okay, we'll disable the older, better versions and force you to download the new version so you can fill up your computer with our huge files. Don't want to give up Walk Off, do you?"

Reading through the discussion thread now.
Saddening.
I was just thinking about developing more on IMVU to get back pro, but I'm not going to shell out money to cover submission fees when I'm short credits + the credits I earn will pretty much be useless now anyways.
As far as gasfourm goes, nothing will change for me on the buying end because for starters I've cut back on buying art in general due to the fact I don't have a need for tons of art I will hardly use. I can't even remember the last time I took a screenshot to order an edited dp...:^ )
Also, I try to pay using paypal to avoid having to buy credits. If I buy using credits, then that is from credits I got from being VIP (on IMVU) + developing.
The only changes for me will be on the selling end. I don't like to charge much for my art because I spend the money leisurely, but what's a dollar really? I'll probably just have to figure out a reasonable price or start making things for free as art is a hobby for me and I don't want to outright stop.

Oh and @ tax information.
I don't pay taxes. I use my parents' information, which I am no way in this world giving to IMVU.
Even if I did pay taxes, I wouldn't supply that information to IMVU. Shiitake, it was already pressing for me when I was 18 to buy AP.

I feel bad for those who solely make an income from IMVU, or rely heavily on IMVU for their income, at this time. I always thought doing that was risky and now here's a good example of the risk you take by doing it.

Edit: SecondLife.
Many of my friends have told me to go on SecondLife and I have tried, but... yeah.
I like the simplicity of IMVU. Maybe I would use it more if someone held my hand and taught me the ins and outs of the site and by that I really mean how to make my avatar look they way I want her to.
Feel free to volunteer as tribute.
