Hi everyone! I'm currently in my last year of university, graduating in May next year! I love art and I've tried my hand at various things such as drawing anime/chibis/doodles but it seems like I'm better at doing pixel art, so I've stuck with that since. I'm self-taught, so I'm still experimenting around with different styles. I've been running an active shop for over a year with a few hiatuses in between. I love GASR as it has a great community where I can interact with fellow artists and art lovers :) I've made many friends here over the years and I hope that continues for a long time to come!

GASR Time

Tue Mar 31, 2015 11:30 pm
Hi there! First i would like to apologize if this has already been asked and answered, i skimmed through the posts and did not see this particular inquiry so here we go.

I am having trouble keeping my transparent pictures transparent after i have edited them in SAI. I googled how to keep it transparent and found two suggestions that should have worked but they did not. Each time after saving as PNG when i reopen the picture in my other program i find that it has a white background added to it. I dont understand what else i can do and its really frustrating as i need to use SAI first and then my other program second to finish my final work.

Does anyone have any other suggestions I may try to keep my pictures transparent?

Any suggestions are highly appreciated. Tysm for taking the time to read my inquiry.  Bear nodding.

Save the image as a .Png then a new window pops up,there you have two options to choose;
24bpp RGB  and 32bpp ARGB you have to save it as 32bpp c: hope this help you~

I have a tutorial here. But, it's basically the same thing as Mitchiri said, just more steps to ensure it actually works in Sai. If the dialogue doesn't pop up, there IS a download link in the first line of the topic to my Sai.
Happy drawing!

Ok so I tried Mitchiri's suggestion and it did not work as i was not getting the png options box at all. so i went ahead and downloaded Fora's version of SAI as i was unsure of what version i had since ive had it for a long time, once i replaced versions, it worked!! So thank you both so very much for your help.
