Quoting Text

Quoting Another User's Message

There is a shortcut in the right corner of the message that you would like to quote.

NOTE: You can quote any message! Even your own.

After clicking that, you will automatically have quoted their text in a new message.

When you post the message the quoted text will look something like this...

Quoting messages is a great way to let other users know you are responding to them.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Creating a quote independent of a message posted.

You can also use the quote feature to make it obvious that you're quoting something.

The shortcut for the code is here..

Or this is the code itself.

Code:
[quote="AUTHOR OF THE QUOTE"]Quote here[/quote]

Example...

Michael Jackson wrote:

e Came Into Her Apartment
He Left The Bloodstains On The Carpet

She Ran Underneath The Table
He Could See She Was Unable

So She Ran Into The Bedroom
She Was Struck Down, It Was Her Doom

Inserting a Code Box

If you want to share a BBC code with other users or an html/css the best way to do so is to use a code box.

You can find the shortcut for the code here...

Or you can simply copy+paste the following as well~

Code:
[code]INSERT THINGS HERE[/code]

Inserting a Table

A table allows you to organize your information~

You can also find this code on a shortcut on the toolbar:

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Coding a Table

First, add this code to specify you are adding a table.
All of the other information goes between these tags.

Your code so far...

Code:
[table][/table]

You may also specify the border width of a table.
If you choose not to add anything in this part, there will be no border around your table.

Your code so far...

Code:
[table border="1"][/table]

Next, you must add a code to specify the TABLE ROW this tag is the  [ tr ] code.

You can add as many rows as you would like~

Your code so far...

Code:
[table][tr] [/tr][/table]

Next, inside the TABLE ROW tag you must add COLUMN ROW tag [ td ] to specify each little "box" you see.

Again, you can add as many as you would like inside~

Your code so far...

Code:
[table][tr][td][/td] [/tr][/table]

And so, by using the code you can make a table made like this~

Display Pictures5000 credits
Full Enhancements15000 credits
Drawings (headshot)15000 credits

This is the code for that table
Code:
[table border="1"][tr][td]Display Pictures[/td]
[td]5000 credits[/td]
[/tr]
[tr][td]Full Enhancements[/td]
[td]15000 credits[/td]
[/tr]
[tr][td]Drawings (headshot)[/td]
[td]15000 credits[/td]
[/tr]
[/table]

Create a Link

A link allows you to be taken to another page on the internet~
To do so, you just need to copy+paste the webpage you want to link to!

For example if you write a link in its entirety, it will automatically turn into a link.

http://www.gasrforum.com
Click this to be taken to our forum home!

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Customizing the link text

If you would rather customize the link text, use the following code~

Code:
[url=LINK HERE] Blahblahblah [/url]

Example

GASRforum

Remember there is also a shortcut to adding a link here!

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Customizing the link style

You can also customize the look of links (by default, links are in black on the GASR forums)
All you have to do is edit the colour / size inside the link code itself~

Code:
[url=LINK HERE][color=deeppink][size=23][u] Blahblahblah [/u][/size][/color][/url]

Example

GASRforum

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Creating an Image link

If you want an image to link somewhere, where you would add the customizable text add an image code in there instead~

Code:
[url=LINK HERE][img]IMAGECODE HERE[/img][/url]

Example

Insert Flash Object

Forumotion also allows you to insert flash object.

There is a shortcut to this feature here

All you have to do is get the link and specify the height and width of the object!

Code:
[flash(width in number, height in number)]LINK HERE[/flash]

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Adding a Clock to your Signature / Post

You can use this flash code to add a clock to your post / signature!

I get my clocks from this website: http://www.clocklink.com/gallery/digital

Once there, customize your clock like you would usually.
The second code is the javascript code you need.

HOWEVER, you cannot just copy+paste that code or it will not show up on the forum

You must use the flash code listed above.

If you look at the code listed there, all the stuff you need to add is right there!

The link is the http text

Code:
http://www.clocklink.com/clocks/5001-gray.swf?DateFormat=mm-DD-YYYY&TimeZone=MST

The height and width are also in the code as well.

Inserting that information in the flash code will look something like this.

Code:
[flash(192,16)]http://www.clocklink.com/clocks/5001-gray.swf?DateFormat=mm-DD-YYYY&TimeZone=MST[/flash]

Voila~

Using Emoticons

Adding Emoticons to a post is very simple. All of the forum emoticons are listed just beside your message body.

All you have to do is click on the image of the emoticon you want to add to your post and the emoticon code will automatically be added~

And then voila you've added an emoticon

If you use an emoticon a lot, you can remember the code itself and simply type that in instead of searching.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

More Emoticons

*The Emoticons are always subject to change as we are constantly adding new emoticons.

We also have different categories of emoticons you can use just click on the subcategory you want to look at!

Goodluck!
