To be fair, you can press the little up arrow to get rid of it if you don't wish to have it. I think it depends on the money situation and if it'll put too much of a strain on the forum because although it's nice to have - we can cope without it because we have before.

- Ugh, not this hideous thing again. It just looks like an add-on for Chrome that shrinks the window. Any way individual users can perma-disable it? Yes, I did click the little arrow but I don't know how long that will last.
Can I please have an explanation of how the notifications are different from what we already have? I only have the report log (staff only can see this) to pop up and I think I blocked it after awhile. You can set these to pop up instantly (on top of e-mail notifications which if you have a smart phone with your e-mail linked you're getting notifications instantly). That can be done for PMs, watching topics, friend requests, report log, etc. All that jazz this thing can do and it's not near as ugly.
I feel like we're finding all these features we can add to GASR and just doing them because we can. The tagging feature is a tag buggy but I admit it is helpful when it's not bugged, I was pretty indifferent to that.
But right now it's just his massive gray rectangle that I see no point in.
I'm always the anti-change mod it seems but really, what benefits are we getting? What is new and makes this a must-have that we don't already have? I read the IM thing but it seems that was only an idea and not something we can actually do? Don't we already have that though (PM)?
+ It does indeed mess up on mobile. I saw it this morning and thought 'Oh great what is this thing that's now stretching the window' thinking is was something forumotion automatically did
For one- forumotion has no way to notify you when getting friend requests and now with this toolbar, it does.
+ you are better updated when a thread you watch is posted in.
You also get updated when your friends log onto the forums.
So that's something that you can't have anywhere else.
IMO, it works way better than getting email responses for everything
That tends to clog up your inbox which is why I opted out of it.
You can click the arrow and it hides it.. For forever it seems.
If not, it's just one click to hide it again so I don't see why that's so damaging.
On my mobile, it's not doing anything to it like has been described...

Maybe for mobile it's just iPhone users?
+ For friend requests it does have an email notification option. I could've sworn it has a popup one as well but I'm not seeing it so maybe that was my imagination.
As long as it stays hidden forever then I can live with it. Long as it doesn't become one of those you have to hide it on every page toolbars.

| |I thought I'd help out since Katelyn & Alexia said they were struggling with paying for gasr.
the only thing that bothers me about the tool bar atm is how it notifys you of every single person posting in a topic you're watching instead of just linking the topic once someone's posted.
If I wasn't clear basically i was following gasr premade market and then it notified me of every post someone made instead of just notifying me and stopping until I've read it.
I don't know if that's customizable or not though.

On the mobile version.
If you zoom in.
The tool bar doesnt work properly. It wont shrink it stays the same size

I like the toolabar. It's really nifty.
I also, like it grey, sense it goes with the website very nicely..
I'd probably hide it if it was that bright pink color cause it hurts my eyes. x.x I'm sorry. ;A;
I don't see those 'ugly links' on my end..
Not sure if you guys did that..for the test? Or if it's cause I have ad block.

//off topic. Did the text format change on GASR? //it's bothering me.
Kinda like how the old text was.

I think the best thing about this is that the normal size text isnt as big is the other one.
But yeah. It did change.

Hm, the bar is really glitchy on mobile. It's nice but it doesn't seem necessary. I think that it should wait until there's more donations and all the necessary things have been covered. I'm willing to make a donation to the site but I'm not really feeling this idea.

i voted yes when they said it would cost only 1$
so please take off one vote from that and put that in the NO's
/hope it counts xD
butt yeahhh i don't think the toolbar is worth that much specially since gasrs low on funds =/
and i like the old font size better too =/

Yea this font is horrible, I am having a hard time reading it, makes the forum kinda of amateur looking. I like the forumotion bar though, and the fact that I can close it so it doesn't show. But I wouldn't pay for something like this
| Sun Apr 06, 2014 4:39 pm|
I'm glad you guys put back the "View your posts" link. It sucked without it!
| Sun Apr 06, 2014 5:19 pm|
| |Okay I'm just going to... Post some update things.
1) The "ugly links" have been removed by Jen.
Now all that's left is the forumotion in the corner and the search feature.
2) Yes the price would be ~$9 a month
- yes pretty much you close it once and every page it will be closed.
| Sun Apr 06, 2014 5:24 pm|
- Yeah and there's no real way of going around this...
Unfortunately you can't toggle which topics you get notified for.
What I would suggest to you is adding the premade market in your favourites instead.
Unless you want to get emails when new posts happen.
- no it's probably going to stay a neutral colour that's not too hard on the eyes.
The pink was just a test colour~
(if we do keep it)
- okay first of all, donations DO NOT GO TO THIS YET
Until everyone has had their say
DONATIONS MADE TODAY AND IN THE PAST HAVE GONE TO OUR DOMAIN NAME AND KEEPING THE FORUM ADD FREE.
That is all.
So you know, that's
where the money is going to.
And if you read anything you would see that Katelyn has been essentially paying for that out of her pocket for the last few months.
- Well, do you like the look of the toolbar as it is now?
