| |Important Changes to the GASR's Terms of Service (ToS Update)
Hey all! The staff and I have been talking for the past few weeks about this, and the following changes will take place immediately (meaning they are already in our ToS as of this post). They are about alternate accounts as well as account deletion.
Please have a read over to understand the changes - if you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself or any of the mods. Stay tuned and check the Announcements section for future changes!
Changes to our Terms of Service
- You may create up to ONE alternate account
If we find that you create more than two accounts to use on the GASR forums, a friendly reminder will be issued and those extra accounts will be deleted.
If you continue to create more accounts after the friendly reminder has been issued, it will result in an official warning.
If you create other accounts while your main and alternate account is suspended (or in other words, banned from the forum) this will not only result in the deletion of your newly created alternative account, but your main and alt accounts will be permanently banned from posting on our forum because of you trying to undermine your punishment for what you were banned for.
If, however, you get a name change, there is no reason you should create a new account simply get us to change your name by posting here.
Note: If we see an alt account that has the same IP address as another account. We are going to assume that it belongs to the same person.
- Deleting your account
If you wish to delete your account, please send a forum PM to one of our administrators (http://www.gasrforum.com/u3097, http://www.gasrforum.com/u3, or http://www.gasrforum.com/u241).
As admins, we are obligated to delete your account. However, according to this article by our host,
- Quote :
- In the event of a complaint (For racist insults, slandering, remarks, homophobes or revisionists remarks, etc...) against the person who asks for the suppression of his account, it should be known that the administrator cannot erase the data relating to the identification of this person (In particular IP address who allows to identify a person formally): it is legally held to be able to communicate with them during a one year deadline minimum (This to allow for example justice to find this person and to possibly initiate a procedure against that particular persone).
I have checked with forumotion staff, and this also encompasses cases of art theft. So essentially, if you have broken our major rules, then the administrators and myself have the right to refuse your account delete request for one year.
